A great way to start caring for extensions is in the shower by using Retro-Bonding Shampooing Potion along with Retro-Bonding Remedy deep conditioning masque. This shampoo and conditioning treatment are both designed to cleanse and replenish the hair and the scalp. The Retro-Bonding remedy contains Vitamin Enriched Microcapsules which help to maintain a healthy scalp and also strengthen the hair. Sometimes extensions can add stress to the scalp and natural hair. This will help the hair to stay strong and healthy and prevent breakage where the extensions are attached. You can spray a little Shakeable on individual sections and either flat iron or curl over it to ensure your work to be more smooth and to stay in place throughout the day. So you finally got your extensions, here are some tips to keep your hair looking fresh. We always recommend going to your stylist for routine care. If that’s not an option, here are some helpful reminders.

Washing Your Hair Makes A Difference

Your hair can attract a lot of dust and sweat which can lead to tangling. To avoid this from happening you should wash your hair regularly. First of all, make sure to de-tangle the hair and remove all knots. Then brush your hair on all sides. Then, when you start shampooing, use a downward movement to wash the hair. Make sure to use a high quality clear shampoo as otherwise it can damage the extensions. We also recommend for you to use a intensive conditioner, one for dry or damaged hair only on natural ends and your hair extensions, but again avoid the bonds. Do not apply too much water all of a sudden as it swell up hair and cause tangles.

Proper Styling Tips

Make sure to use a high quality brush that has soft bristles on it. Start styling your hair from the bottom and then move slowly to the top portion. Always make sure to brush in a gentle manner and never exceed over 3 times in one day. Try to avoid using hair dryers as it will dry out your hair. Instead let it dry on its own. You can also use ceramic flat irons and other appliances to curl and smooth out your hair.

Workout Care

We all need to workout and while doing so you need to take care of your hair extensions as well. If you are going swimming then make sure to wear a protective rubber cap. The chlorine and salt content in the swimming pool water can cause hair to entangle. You can also try tying up your hair in ponytail form to avoid it getting wet. Note the chlorine can discolour hair extensions, so be warned!

Care While You Sleep

Always make sure to thoroughly dry your hair out before you hit bed for the night. So, if you are planning on washing your hair, make sure you do it several hours before bed time. You also need to tie up your hair gently before you sleep to avoid tangles.

Good Products

Here’s a tip for keeping your hair smooth, use a leave-in conditioner. However, do not use too much of the conditioner as it can again cause hair to entangle. Do not use hair products which have alcohol as one of their ingredients. It can dry out your hair excessively. Instead, you could consult with your personal stylist on which products are best to use for your hair.

Treatment options

Try to avoid coloring your hair or perming it when you have had hair extensions applied. These contain chemicals which can damage the extensions. Try avoiding any hair treatments which contain chemicals in them. Instead, ask your stylist to suggest what treatments need to be avoided. If you do go ahead with dying you hair extensions whilst fitted, pay special attention to avoid the bonds as chemicals will weaken the bonds considerably.
